Please don't laugh at me if you are always spotting me with food in my mouth

Ok, that was a long title.

But, let me repeat it again. Please don't laugh at me if you are always spotting me with food in my mouth. Hahahahaha! And stop asking me me 'why are you eating again?!'

*Things always happen with a reason, RIGHT?!!* I'm sure you know I will not eat every 2 hours if I can help it! Hahahahaha! STOP CALLING ME A GLUTTON! (Although I'm 72.7% positive that I've been possessed by Glutton Kelly No. 4. Hehs.)

=D

Muffins from Chocolat and Spice!

Weeeee. Dear Ailin came back yesterday and brought along alot of muffins! Her favourite muffins, and currently, my favourite muffins from Tanjong Pagar! Woooohoooo!

This shop is always having a long queue, especially during lunch hours. I verified it with Weng, who loves their muffins too. (Wei...... Buddies for so long and you actually DID NOT share this place with me?!) Haha.

I heard that there's alot of flavors. Not just the conventional chocolate chips that will never go wrong! There's pumpkin, cranberries, mocha, etc. Ailin got us the chocolates ones. Which were really nice!!

I had the double chocolate. I thought it was really yummmy! Hahaha. But Weng actually told me that's not nice. Because alot of people find it too sweet. WHAT?! LOL! The nice thing about the muffins is not the chocolates, but the texture itself. It's so smooth! And there's a little cake texture in it too. Yummilicious. I destroyed my stomach again for this lo. Haha. It's oh-so-good-for-my-stomach!

But, after telling Weng about my muffin encounter, she told me that I should have the muffins warm! Because her col say so. OH MY GOD! I din have it warm! Or actually, I think I did. Because they were freshly baked. Haha! But nonetheless, because there's a few left, I thick-skin-ly asked Ailin if I can have a chocolate chips flavor home, to warm it up. SHE SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

So, I warmed it up at Ah dear's place. And shared it with him. Haha.

>.< I don't think he think that it's special. Well, I love it! I think, it's a little too hot when I eat it. Not warming it was nice enough actually. So, my experiment showed that, we really don't have to warm it up. Haha.

And oh, by the way, Weng told me that the best seller is the chocolate chips. =) It's nice! I'm yearning for more. I'm so going down to Tanjong Pagar soooooon. Ok, after my stomach recover. It better do so within the next 6 weeks! If not, it's so going to soil my greedy birthday plan. Lol!

Thank you Ailin for treating us the muffins! I have another foodie place to bookmark again! =) =) =)

Provence Bread

Don't ask me why did I keep raving about how delicious certain breads are. Haha. Because, they are like my life. I cannot live without them. I simply love their texture, their softness and their taste! Haha. Especially with my current stomach condition, bread seems to be a magic food to me. Hahaha. Ah dear and mummy ask me to just eat bread for all my meals to save all trouble. LOL! I really wanted to. If not for a balanced diet..... Haha.

Back to Provence bread. I hope I din get their name wrong! =X Hehs. I'm so super bad at names...... Hehs. Even dishes names and restaurants names! Haha. To make sure that I've got it right, here's the plastic bag. Lol!

The Provence bakery and cafe is actually a Japan and French fusion. They make really nice bread. Ok, at least their signature breads are really nice! Haha. They have a few branches around. But I'm only familiar with the ion one. Not too sure of the location at Holland Village. And according to their website, there's a few other branches too. Go check it out yourself! Haha.

I love the way the cafe look, by the way. Hehs.

So far, I've tried a few of them. And nothing beats their chocolate wassant!!!! Yes, it's a tad expensive. 60 cents for one. And even if you buy 10, there's no further discount. Hahaha. Like, what's the point right? Should be buy more get more free de ma.... But nvm. Hahaha. Please pardon my lousy photo. They taste better than they look. I SWEAR!!! But just looking at the photo made me want to take the whole bag and start munching now.....

Haha. I was going home from the hospital today and I realized that I'll be going pass Orchard. So, I made an impromptu decision to alight to pick them up to make myself a happier person. Haha. I've been yearning for the since the last time I finished the last wassant (that's like, on the day I went Phuket! 2 July 2010. LOL!)

And although I think I don't have the tummy condition to eat so much, the flavor of the bread made me want to try it! Green tea and melon! Haha. I'm a fan of green tea you see.... Haha. (Only the japan one. Not the jasmine one! Hehs.) I cannot wait to try it tomorrow! =)

The other 2 that I've tried were the kaya and the cream wassants. Texture wise were comparable. But I still prefer the choco ones. Because of the nice smell that comes out of the choco wassant. The whiff you get the moment you pick them up. *Slurps* Haha.

Also tried their coffee cinnamon. I have to say, I'm not a fan of coffee and really sweet stuffs. So, that wasn't my cup of tea. But, it's not to the point of not nice. It's just that, compared to my choco wassant, they are not that nice. Haha! I'm biased. LOL!

And this! Cinnamon sugar. Wah. That was really sweeet! Ah dear finds it nice. That's why he bought it for me! But urm, it's sweet. Other than that, not too bad. Haha. I'm sure people who like sugars will like them more than I do. Haha!

All in all. This is my favouritest bakery in Singapore, currently. Hahaha. Because of the choco wassants. LOL! Please do tell me if you find any nice bakeries around! I would love to find new favouritest bakeries! Hahaha.

Actually theres's one at Yishun, near ah dear's house. It's called Breadman. And oh, there's another one at Woodlands. Near the town council. They have really niceeee bread too! Wooo. I feel hungry now....... =X

DayPlus Bread

Have you ever came across this bread in your life in Singapore before? Well, I had.

My first encounter with the bread was a few years back when Max offered the bread to me during some lessons because I was too hungry. Hahaha! Upon finishing the first one, I've decided that I am going to go looking for it because it was so good! But I think, I forgot all about it, or I couldn't find it. Haha.

But I found it once again in 7-11. It brought back all the wonderful memories of how good the bread was. Haha. I'm serious. It's soft and the smell is great. I think I can have it every single day! LOL. Because, I'm a bread lover.

But when you look at the flavor outside the package, you would most probably think that there's some filling inside right? I really really really thought so. So the first time I tried the Hokkaido cream, I was trying to pry the entire bread apart so that I can get to the cream area in the center. No. I cannot find it!

It was only then that I actually realized that, hey, the strong smell of the flavor is just around the entire bread! There's no big crater for the filling! Oh, that's something that I love. Because I love the texture of breads more than the filling itself. But, I would like to have the filling too of course. This bread totally saved my day! Hahahahaha! I can have both the smell and the texture right at the same time. So that makes me happy, and it makes me want to have more of the bread! Hahaha.

But there are some flavors that are not like this of course. Their red bean, white chestnut, purple potato etc, have the real fillings. Hehs. I find them a tad sweet. And I prefer the ones without the filling. But I have to say, the white chestnut was nice! According to them, they have a special new flavor once in a while. I guess the purple potato is the new one. Tried it, ah dear din find it special at all. Hahaha.

But what really amazed me was that, despite the Japanese look of the packaging (yes, I am a sucker towards Japanese products! I admit!), it is a product of Singapore!

If I had not look carefully at the packaging, I would not have thought that it was from Singapore! Haha. But they claims that the ingredients are from Japan. I dun care where they get their ingredients from. So long they give me nice, good quality bread with the texture I like, I'll be a great fan of them! =)

Anyway, they can be found at 7-11, cold storage and some convenience stores. Oh, the shop beside the food court at Biopolis have them too! Most places sells it at $1.20 per bread. But the econs mini mart at ah dear's place sells it at $1. LOL! Ok, I sounded a little auntie here. HAHAHAHA!

*Psst, blueberry and melon is currently my top top top top top top flavor! =) =)

Eating in Phuket - Kan Eang 2

Hehs. The Kan Eang restaurant that I had been raving about and comparing to all the places we have been to! It's realllllly the best~ Haha.

This place is in a very secluded area. So if you ever ever want to go to this place, please book a taxi, to and fro. You'll regret it if you din do it! Because, there's no car at sight at all. Haha.

The moment you walk into the place, you'll heart soft music in the background. Everything just look really classy. Not alot of photos were taken because we've forgot my camera! Oh damn. Of all the places!!! But thank god there's something called the camera photo. Well, I would say that the photos were not really well done too. Thank god there's something called photos editing. Haha. Now the photos look so much better. Haha! But wells, back to the place. It's right beside the beach, so there's small waves washing up the shore. And the lights were really very warmish kinda yellow. The brightest part will be your own table, whereby the light shines directly onto your food. Haha!

When we opened the menu, we were so so so shocked! We thought we were conned into this place. Because the seafood was much more expensive than the ones we had at the palm! Lobsters were more expensive. Oh, we wanted to eat it. We seriously wanted to leave for other places. But we learned that the nearest place has alot of dogs along the way. And then, we need a car if we want to go the other way. And in the end, the other place is Kan eng 1. Which is the same place sia......

After flipping the menu a little more, we realized that, erm, the thai food is really very cheap! Haha. And I guess the seafood is more expensive because they're alive. Not like most of the places which sell dead seafood. Hehs. So we set down and order and we wanted to order ALOT!

Clams? Lala? Hehs. They were really good. But I find them too spicy for my tongue. Lol!

The Phad thai was the best phad thai that I had ate in my life so far. Haha. I've only tried Thai express and the phuket and the bangkok ones? Lol! But it was really good. It could be because we were really starving and it was one of the first few dishes orders. But we ordered another 2 plates. LOL!

Spicy mango salad. My god. It's nice but spicy. Hehs. But that's how mango salads should be done right? LOL!

I forgot if this is tom yum kun or the seafood one. Hehs. Forgot the taste already. But then, I rmb it as a very spicy one. I cannot even really finish my first bowl at all. But it was really good. However, after drinking it, we need to eat a lot of other things to 'neutralize' the spiciness! Haha.

After a while, as the dishes come up one by one, we (or rather ah dear) got so engrossed in eating that no more food photos were taken. And, there were the nicer ones! Lol. I forgot why he din pass me his phone either. But I'll remember my camera the next time! Haha!

We tried their morning glory. It was surprisingly delicious.

The fish. We steamed it the Chinese style. My gawd. It was SO FRESH and SO NICE and SO SWEET and the soup was SO JUST RIGHT! Haha. It was the exact same thing as the one we had at Palm at Patong beach. That was nothing comparable to the one we had at Kan Eng 2! The fish really really did not die for nothing. It died a honorable death. Haha! I bet their other seafood were equally fresh and nice. NEXT TIME!

We also tried something that's seaweed tempura with prawn. Haha. I have to say. Just give me the seaweed and the sauce, I'm a happy Kelly already. LOL! The prawn was abit out of place because of the shell. You know the feeling of eating fried prawns with the shell? Lol. Very piercing, I would say. But the sauce made our day! Even though we were really full. Haha!

Oh, pineapple rice! That was good too. We were having a debate on whether the pineapple or Phad thai is better. We have to order another serving you see. Phad Thai won. Even though I think the Pineapple deserve a second serving too. The pineapple taste was really good!

Other than the coconut, I think, that's all we had ordered ba......The coconut was not just coconut orh. They named it 'Young Coconut'. Haha. Which means, their flesh is really soft and tender. Yeap. They delivered that! But I would like to have a young adult though. Then their flesh would be slightly thicker. Hahaha!

All in all, it was a really filling and wonderful dinner.

We left as very happy customers wanting and wishing to be back there every moment!

And mind you. We ate alot, we din spend alot! Inclusive of service charge, we only spend 1600 baht (=S$70). We ordered so much food and 5 coconuts and 1 soft drink! The fish was only 350 baht lo. So amazing! You cant get such good food at such great price so easily ba? Hehs.

It's a red alert recommendation! Please go there when you go Phuket one day! It's a must go! And it's a hidden gem because most of the people there are actually locals! Haha. =)

Oh by the way, did I mention that the service was pretty good? Hehs. How much more do I have to convince you to go there???? Hahaha!

American Breakfast

I have seriously been craving for some good American Breakfast since I was at Phuket. But the first one failed me and the second one din have all the things I would like to have on the table. So, this morning, I've decided to be hardworking and make myself the perfect breakfast that I wanted to eat!

But damn, the first thing I realised was, my hashbrown was missing! So, I replace my potato urge with my 'baby baked potato'. I swear I'll find my hashbrown soon! *Made extra, so ah dear has a lot of potatos to eat again! LOL!

Next, I forgot to buy my big sausuage. So, I have to make do with the small hotdog. It was alright. But I would not stop desiring for the American Breakfast till I ate it with my giant sausage! LOL!

My scramble egg was puuuuurrrfect! This is the texture that I had been yearning for. But erm, I overdid on the salt. It's still edible and yummy though. Hahahaha!

And lastly, I wanted to make a little fruit salad like the Auntie at Mudan House did for us. But erm, I realised, I'm still craving for the chocolate banana crepe over at Phuket. So, I made a 'mini pizza' with nutella and banana instead. LOL! Toasted the bottom of the bread a little to warm the whole thing up. Yums. Me like! =)

I bet the breakfast would have tasted better if I had someone to share it with me. Food tastes better when shared, don't you think so? Haha.

Max Brenner @ Esplanade

They boast to have the best chocolate waffles in Singapore. Hmm. Well, I beg to differ.

Yes, I agree that the waffles are pretty nice. Soft and bouncy. But I am someone that can twinkle and feel like I am in heaven when I eat something really nice. This did not give me the effect! I'm not too sure if it's because I have ulcers in my mouth though. But even so, this is too expensive to be a waffle le ba? I can accept it to be around 10 bucks. But, not $16 right? Hmmm.

Another over priced scoffle. Hmm. I dun really enjoy the ultra thick chocolate. But there are some who loves it. Have to admit, the chocolates that came out was not too sweet. Just nice. I would say, if the chocolate could be a little thinner, then that will be great.

I like their water refill. =) The bottle is nice!!

Not too sure if I would go back there again. Maybe when I'm feeling really rich, or I have a super craving for extreme chocolate taste. Hahaha.

Eating in Phuket - Kata Mama

Other than Mali seafood which is more expensive, this was the recommended seafood restaurant that's cheap and good around Kata beach. A place that we dun have to travel far to. Well within walking distance! Goood! It's right at one end of the Kata beach!

The place here is really nice. Nice breeze, nice checkers cloth which is like the must have for any beachside restaurant, light bulbs that's really pretty. And the most important one, cheap and delicious food. =)

They dun really have great coconuts though. I had the only sweet one. Lol! I think coconut is the staple drink/fruit at the beach leh.. LOL!

Pineapple rice is not bad. It's a must eat in Thailand, isnt it? LOL! I find the rice pretty tasteful. Hehs. And the pineapple is sweeet! Yum yum! But too bad, it doesnt have my favourite pork floss on it. Boohoohoo.

Since the name is called Phuket soup, it should be a must try when we are in Phuket right? Haha. Well, it says spicy again. No, it's salty! Lol. And ar, it just tasted like the mee sua soup my mama always cook for me. There's some mee sua in the soup lo. Haha. On top of the meatballs. Well, it's not too bad, but it's not a must eat either!

This is the garlic and pepper prawns. Urm, I was hoping for a similar garlic from the restaurant in Langkawi. But no, nothing like that came. The garlic was quite nice though. But, the prawns are a little too small le ba? Right? Lol. I really think the prawns are extras. I can just have the garlic will do. Lol!

YX says that BBQ squid is a must eat! So, we ordered it. Haha. It's really very nice! It has a BBQ taste in it. Omg, it's. HEAVENLY! I swear. If not, why would we order a second plate? Hahaha. The chili totally made it really really really nice too. Purfect! =) The 2nd plate din fail us too!

So because of the squid, we ordered more bbq stuffs. Hmm. The prawns were like, just prawns. Yes it's fresh, but, there's no BBQ taste in it. So, no way am I going to order BBQ prawn from this place again. Hahahaha!

In the end, we only spend like 880 baht ($30.50) here! Cheap and nice! Me like!

Eating in Phuket - The Orchid

If you are talking about not too bad thai food nearer to our place, Orchid is the one. It's just next to our hotel. You dun even need to go down the slope at all! But, the food was just okok only. Good enough to fill your stomach. And not too bad if you haven went to Chalong for their thai food! Hahahaha!

Ah dear thinks this is nice!

We think that the gravy was nice. This is fried beef with basil leaf. Ya right, their fried is stir fry lo. Lol! But this was good.

The phat thai was not too bad. But it felt about the same as thai express though. Hehs. So, not the standard we should want to find in thailand ba? haha.

Papaya salad is also another must eat in Thailand. It was not too spicy. Taste wise, just ok only ba. Hehs.

The girls tried the tom yum soup too when they reached. Our conclusion: it's not nice! Not spicy and sour enough. Hmm. No good! Hahahaha.

Overall, this place is a good place if you are so hungry that you need food asap and you are just at the hotel. Haha. Other than that, dun need to try because there are so much more better food around!

Eating in Phuket - Two Chefs

Phuket = thailand = thai food! Slurps.

Phuket = beach = fresh seafood! Slurps.

When you go Phuket, you will realize that there are alot of Ang moh ang moh restaurants around. But within the restaurant, there will be both western food and thai food. Something that I find amazing. Haha. But I think, most of the time, the western cuisine taste better than the thai food ba. I want to try their steaks but I would think Singapore would offer better ones. And, why did I even go Thailand for western food? Are you joking? LOL!

But still, I had western food. Hahaha. They are a little difficult to resist, especially when the place look so pretty from the outside and they have pretty good reviews on the internet. Hehs.

One great one I would love to recommend is Two Chefs. It's opened by 2 Swedish chefs but they offer more food than just Swedish cuisine itself. The one we went to was just round the corner of our hotel (we just have to go down the slopes, we can find a lot of food already!). And we only went there for lunch.

The place was rather tastefully decorated, like most of the restaurants you can find at Kata beach itself. =)

I think this should be some Swedish bread. Yums. But Ah dear din think that it was that fantastic actually. Lol. Plain bread was better. Hahaha!

I ordered some mexican food. It's tacos with spicy meat and all the toppings and sauces. So we have to place all the stuffs into the tacos and eat it. Hehs. Hmm. I think, the meat is really very salty and not spicy at all. This is the problem with the Phuket food. They say it's spicy, it turns out to be salty. We still cannot fathom why! Lol! Other than the salty meat, this was rather good.

Since it's by 2 Swedish chefs, we have to try some Swedish food right? The only one we know is the meatballs. Haha. So, Ah dear ordered it. It was really really really really really nice! I can finally understand why everyone in the lab told me that the meatballs from Ikea is not meatballs at all. This one is so soft and yummy. And the whipped potato. Dun even compare. Heaven. =)

Eating in Phuket - Black canyon coffee

Another ang moh food that we had has to be our American breakfast. The first breakfast in Phuket, I'm yearning for American breakfast. With big sausage, scramble egg and orange juice. Best if there's hashbrown around. It's nothing too difficult to ask for right? Because, I can really make a nice one myself. Haha. But, disappointment was the thing I got. I cannot remember which restaurant we went to, but it was along the Kata beach, and it was at the end. It should be either Kata mama (which I dun think so) or the one beside it (more likely). Hahaha! The photo looks great! But, what we got was.... Not a pretty sight at all!

To be fair, the egg was really nice. But the sausage is so small, and the bacon was really oily and the ham was just ok only. The bread was not too bad, but the butter dun taste good. The tea was fabulous and the orange juice was freshly squeezed and it was really sweet. So, overall, it was pretty ok. BUT BUT BUT! This whole set should not have cost 250 baht (S$11) ba.... Well, if you say it's cos of the view, then, ok lo. We have to settle for this because I was way too hungry and most of the restaurants were not opened yet. But, I'm not going to go back for this anymore!

The better American breakfast that I had was at Black Canyon Coffee. The breakfast sets were just 120 baht and it tasted better and it was more filling. Haha.

Not only this, Black canyon coffee also serves pretty nice drinks too! (From the top: Ice thai tea, Ice chocolate frappe and Ice black hazelnut frappe). Not too bad, I would say!

And, to top it up, they serve pretty nice thai food too. We tried their tom yum koon (yums), phat thai (not too bad), some fried chicken (ok la.the sauce was good), hor fun lookalike rice noodles (really tasted like hor fun) and american fried rice (fried rice lo). Haha. Din take any photos because I was still feeling very down from losing my diamond earring. But overall, the food was not too bad. Especially when it's just a few steps from the foot of the slope from our hotel!
