Creation @ Shaw Tower

Girls are just girls. No matter how bloated they are, give them desserts, their tummy will open up more space to accommodate them. Been there, done that. It's true. Haha.

We were complaining about how freaking full we are and we decided that we cannot give these desserts a miss since we are at Shaw Tower! Ha!

Woooo. Vanilla ice cream with chocolate brownie. Slurps. Super sinful I know. But well, both of them usually go really nicely together! Hehs. Brownie was pretty nice, ice cream is just ice cream lo. Ha.

Apple crumble. All of us wanted to order this the moment we saw the menu. Haha. Woooo. I love the mixture of the warm crumble with the cold chocolate ice cream. This kinda mixture is my favorite! =D The crumble is soft and nice but a little too sweet for my liking.

Tiramisu. Looks really normal. And it looked really small and insignificant as compared to the other 2. Well, it's a tiramisu which does not have very strong coffee taste. Not too bad, but I would not go "OH MY GOD" that kinda expression. Ha!

This shows how happy we were! See the smiley face?? Hahaha! Maybe a little gloomy though. Ha!

Well, I would not make a special trip down there just to eat these desserts. However, if I am nearby, like at the Ah Loy Thai, it will be a nice place to sit down and continue our desserts here! Haha! And it's not that expensive because all three of them cost like, $14?

Desserts at Shin Kushiya!

Once upon a time (okay, not really that long ago), my man and I hopped into Shin Kushiya to have our anniversary dinner. And now, we chanced upon this restaurant again to have some desserts because I was attracted by the pretty looking desserts at the window!

The mains were not too bad. But we are here for our dessert/afternoon tea!

First, tiramisu. God. The cream was fresh, the taste was good. The plum wine gave an extra boost somehow. And the coffee smell was just nice for my liking. Woooosh! WE LIKE! Haha. The cream layer was really good (considering that I'm not a great fan of creams). The cake part was heavenly. Wooooo!

I erm, finished quite a fair bit of the cake before my man noticed it. Hahahahaha!

Next, is the green tea mochi with ice cream.

The mochi was reallllly suppppeeerrrr Q. Heh. And as you slowly chew it, the nice aroma of the green tea will diffuse into your mouth and you will go 'hmmmmmm....'. Haha. And I love the warm mochi.

Eat it with the accompanying green tea ice cream. Woo. You will have the merger of warm and cold in your mouth! YUMS!

And apparently, there is an offer. If you dine in during the afternoon tea time, all desserts will be at $6 each. NICE! Haha. Offers just made good desserts even better right? Hahaha.

Final verdict. I'm sure I'll go back there sometime for the desserts again! I'm serious! Well, I'm great fan of Japanese style desserts, or rather desserts as a whole. Haha. So, I would never waste my calories on yucky desserts. Hehs.

Island Creamery

Need I say anymore? I think this place is famous enough in Singapore. Haha. Look at the crowd, look at the amount of photos on their walls. It must have a place where many left some footprints or memories ba. Hahaha!

We tried the special ones that we don't find it around often. Horlicks (top), Milo and Ping Pong (bottom right) and Teh Terik (bottom left). They are the drinks that we often have, isn't it? So once melted, we can drink it le. HAHAHAHAHA!

We added some horlicks powder to our horlicks ice cream and tadang! We have horlicks dinosaur (you'll understand our joke if you know what is milo dinosaur. LOL! Basically milo dinosaur is just milo with A LOT of milo powder sprinkled on top. Haha!)

Verdict: Horlicks is the best because it has the strongest taste. It covered our taste buds a little so the milo and ping pong (that's just super soft and nice marshmallow) and the teh terik. I felt that they really tasted like our drink. But this time round, it has such a great texture. ICE CREAM TEXTURE! Plus, it's not hot. Hehs.

Something else that I like from the place is that we eat with these wooden spoons. Hohohoho! I loveeeee this. It made me feel that it's a very childhood thing to do as we use to eat with this! Haha. Their plastic bowl is a little unglam though, but it did not affected the taste at all.

A few of us preferred this, a few of us preferred the Udders more (ME ME ME! I prefer Udder's texture and Weng thinks that Island Creamery is a little too sweet.). It differs from people to people. So, well well well. It's still a good ice cream parlor of course! And by the way, the birthday person will get a free scoop with every purchase. Hehs. And that's what we got! =D And also, the price is so much lower as compared to the Udders. It's $2.80 for 1 scoop, $4.50 for 2 scoops and $6.50 for 3. Which one to love is your choice! Haha.

Udders Ice Cream

Hohoho. Nothing beats ice cream in hot and sunny Singapore. Right? LOL! And ice cream is also a kind of mood lifter. But because ice cream is so loaded with calories, we should not waste our calories on normal ice creams, right? Hahaha.

I welcome the invitation to Udders ice cream! Wooohoo! Do you know that it is actually a Singapore brand? Hehs. Most of our ice cream shops are from all over the world ba.

I have to pose under it! Haha.
The deco of the shop is rather simple. Haha. Just a few chairs and it's always filled. Not very tastefully decorated at the counter. But because of a personal touch to it by the customers, I think it's rather cosy and welcoming. Haha. I love chalkboards!

Not nicely taken. Boo. =(
They offer quite a range of flavors!

Seriously, will we smell of durian when we burp?

Yum yum. Thank god we have 6 people. This means, we can share 6 different flavors! Wooohoo!

You don't call me a glutton for nothing. Haha.
So, we tried mango, chocolate, hazelnut, orange chocolate, tiramisu and snickers bar.

Mango and snicker bar.
Hazelnut and chocolate
Final verdict. I like the ice cream because the texture is so smooth! I don't really get this soft texture with most of the ice cream I've tried so far. Not even the big brands with loads of chains. Flavor wise was pretty strong. You can really taste the things that's supposed to be in your ice cream. For example, the tiramisu tasted almost like the cake! Coffee coffee and coffee. LOL!

I love the mango sorbet because of the refreshing taste. It's really good. All thumbs up by 6 of us! Haha. And the hazelnut too! You can find the hazelnut biscuits inside it. Woohoo! And I'm the only one who fancy the orange chocolate because I'm a great fan of orange chocolates in the first place. Haha. But everyone's complaining of the strong alcohol taste that I did not managed to capture. *Hmmmmmm* As for the rest of the flavors, I felt that it's just, ice cream lo..

Hehs. It is true that they offer a lot of special flavors that most ice cream shops does not offer. However, I felt that those that they offer tasted (flavor wise) pretty similar to some of the big shots around.

What won my heart is only the texture of the ice cream (very very very important in the food I like!) and perhaps the large range of flavors ba. But still, good job done. I'll still visit it again when I feel like eating ice cream.
